CREATING A QUIET LIFE

I enjoy the Quiet Days & I Crave The Slow Rhythm of Home — the hum of the kettle, the creak of old floors, yarn waiting in a basket by the chair. This little corner is my journal of light — a slow and simple place to gather small photographs, words, and moments that might have once been shared in other places.

I shared in my first post here, about the heart from which I'll share in this space & I want to add to those thoughts with the place the Lord is drawing me to. It has been a slow & steady leading, away from the noise & into the quiet places. A place to keep tending to the work of home & to share from those moments, here. I’ll simply keep the moments that mean something to me: the warmth of handmade work, the calm of tending a home, the beauty of ordinary days.

I have spent years on social media and I have built many wonderful memories, relationships & created a lot of meaningful and beautiful work in those seasons . But I am finding in this season of life, and for a while now , the way that it wears on my spirit & soul, I find that I become distracted and depressed & I tend to become withdrawn and overwhelmed. The weight of keeping up with it all, the pressure of algorithms, the incoming news and flow of information that is too much for some of us to process & keep up with.. I am coming to realize that I am not meant to carry all of the ever growing, consuming and draining information and news that floods the feed.

Perhaps you can relate....

The spirit I would tend to feel surface while trying to keep peace in my own home, became too much & too heavy. So it is here that I am creating a quiet feed in my own little home. A place to treat it like the Sanctuary it should be & to invite you in, to my little farmhouse, to enjoy the captured moments, the inspiration, & anything else the Lord inspires me to share here.
